Legend

	A brand new brewery that we have added in the last month.
	Brewery opened in 2008.
	We have received new information about this brewery in the last month.
	Brewery that is planning to open in the future but beers are already available brewed at another brewery.
	Brewery of uncertain status.
	Brewery where brewing is currently suspended.
	Brewery now closed. Note that beers may still be brewed under this name but a change of location or significant change in ownership may have occurred.
	A brewery that has previously brewed real ale but now does not.
	A brewery that is included in this list for completeness even though the majority of beer brewed by it does not strictly fit within the definition of real ale.  This in no way implies that their beers may be worse than real ale, just that they are different.
	A brewery whose beers are no longer brewed at their traditional home following a takeover of the company.
	A brewery whose beers are no longer brewed by themselves following a merger with another brewery.
	A company that has no immediate plans to brew it's own beer but has beer brewed for it by another brewery.
	A company that while owning, or having owned, a real ale brewery, may not actually be a real ale brewery in itself.
	We've got a photo of the brewery.
	We've got public transport, or walking, directions, normally from the local bus or railway station or other such landmark.
	Sometimes at Beer Festivals a one-off beer appears from a home brewer normally as a charity donation-only beer.  These "breweries" are represented as such and may at some time in the future become a fully licensed brewery.
