History
Opened in 1992 with a change of ownership in 1994, the brewery took over and relocated to Four Rivers Brewing Company Ltd in October 2000, renaming the new brewery Hadrian Border Brewery. The original plant was sold to Hawkshead Brewery.

Since the 1974 local government reorganisation there has been much controversy over many county boundaries.
