History
Brewing started in March 1991 in a converted outbuilding at the brewer's in-law's house in Holme-on-Swale. The success of the beers lead to a need to expand which resulted in a move to the current location at the opposite end of the village, The Brewery, Holme-on-Swale, in 1994. Brewing capacity doubled in 2000. The brewery relocated to its current address in Summer 2005.

Since the 1974 local government reorganisation there has been much controversy over many county boundaries.
