History
Initially first introduced in 1997, Blackpool beers were brewed at Barnsley Brewing Co. Ltd before brewing in Blackpool commenced in November 2000 using a 20BBL plant. Took over Barnsley Brewery in 2001 keeping both plants open. The owning company went into liquidation in April 2002, leaving the beers being brewed at Barnsley once more. Brewing restarted at Blackpool in April 2003, with brewing at Barnsley ceasing. By the end of June 2005, the brewery was repossessed and went into liquidation. The plant was sold in 2006 to Acorn Brewery of Barnsley Limited.

Since the 1974 local government reorganisation there has been much controversy over many county boundaries.
