History
It was announced at Christmas 2001 that the US company Coors had agreed to pay £1.2 billion for the Carling Brewing division of AB Inbev UK Limited. The sale was completed in February 2002. This sale consisted of the following breweries Bass Brewers Bass Mitchell's & Butlers, Heritage Brewing Company. Bass Mitchells & Butler plant at Cape Hill closed by the end of 2002. In 2005 they merged with Molson of Canada to become Molson Coors UK. In 2010 the Museum Brewery was relaunched as The White Shield Brewery. In 2011 they took over Sharp's Brewery Ltd and in 2015 took over Thomas Hardy Burtonwood Ltd. Keg-only brewery exists at Molson Coors Brewing Co (UK) Ltd (Tadcaster) and Molson Coors Brewing Company (UK) Limited (Burton-on-Trent)
