History

The origins of Ind Coope go back to 1709 when brewing started behind The Star Inn in Romford. In 1799 this pub was taken over by Edward Ind and a larger brewery was built. C.E.Coope joined the firm in 1845 and in 1856 a much larger brewery was opened in Burton-upon-Trent. The firm was renamed Ind Coope in 1886. In 1934 it merged with Samuel Allsopp Brewing Company. It merged once more with Ansells Brewery Ltd and Tetley Walker Ltd in 1961 to form Allied Breweries. In 1997, production of the beer was transferred to Carlsberg Marston's Brewing Company Limited at their Leeds plant. Production ceased in 2014.

Beers Brewed

We do not maintain a list of beers brewed by each brewery. There may be a list on the brewery's own website. For historical information, we suggest you also visit the brewery page on the unfortunately no longer updated Beermad.
