History
Originally based in the cellar of the White Horse pub on Castle Street in Hertford on opening in October 1994, this brewery moved to its final address and expanded in 1996. A continued plan of steady expansion has brought about the ownership of a small number of tied houses. Went into voluntary liquidation in February 2002. There was a short-lived attempt to restart brewing under the name Tilbury Ales. The 10BBL plant was sold to Buntingford Brewery Limited.

Since the 1974 local government reorganisation there has been much controversy over many county boundaries.
